Customs Clearance & Compliance for Machinery

Customs clearance and biosecurity cleaning, managed by a former licensed customs broker

  • Certified customs broker partners
  • Domestic machinery cleaning
  • Overseas machinery cleaning

Customs & Compliance by machinery specialists

Getting machinery through customs and biosecurity is where shipments are most often delayed and costs most often blow out. A machine with soil in its tracks or a gap in its paperwork can sit at the wharf for days while storage charges add up.

Our managing director was a licensed Australian customs broker from 2011 to 2024. Today we clear machinery through certified customs broker partners, and we coordinate cleaning in Australia before export or overseas before import, so machines arrive ready to pass inspection.

What’s included

  • Import and export clearance through certified partners
  • Domestic machinery cleaning coordination
  • Overseas machinery cleaning coordination
  • Complete documentation management
  • Full audit trail maintained

How we clear your machinery

  1. 1

    Check the paperwork early

Invoices, bills of lading, packing lists and any permits are checked before the machine ships, not when it arrives.

  2. 2

    Plan the cleaning

We arrange cleaning before export, or with an overseas provider before an import is loaded, so the machine meets biosecurity rules on arrival.

  3. 3

    Lodge the declaration

Our certified customs broker partners lodge the import or export declaration and calculate any duty and GST payable.

  4. 4

    Inspection and release

We manage any biosecurity inspection and follow the machine through to release, keeping you updated.

  5. 5

    Delivery and records

Once released, the machine is delivered or collected, and the full document trail is kept for your records.

What we help with

  • Machinery imports into Australia
  • Machinery exports from Australia
  • Pre-export cleaning in Australia
  • Pre-shipment cleaning overseas before import
  • Biosecurity inspections and re-inspections
  • Export documentation for destination countries
  • Duty and GST on imported machinery, via partners

Why cleaning matters

Biosecurity inspection

Imported machinery is inspected for soil, seeds, plant material and insects. Contaminated machines are directed for cleaning and re-inspection before release.

Costs add up quickly

Cleaning at the arrival port, re-inspection fees and storage while you wait are all charged to the importer. Cleaning before shipping is usually cheaper and faster.

Exports too

Destination countries such as New Zealand apply strict biosecurity rules to used machinery, so exports need to be cleaned to the same standard.

Customs & Compliance FAQs

How long does customs clearance take?

Typically two to five business days once the machine has arrived and the documents are complete. Biosecurity inspections or cleaning can add time, which is why we plan cleaning before the machine ships.

Are you a customs broker?

Our managing director was a licensed Australian customs broker from 2011 to 2024. Today, clearances are lodged by our certified customs broker partners, and we manage the process end to end.

What happens if my machine fails biosecurity inspection?

It is directed for cleaning and re-inspection before it can be released, with the costs charged to the importer. We arrange the cleaning and follow it through to release.

Can you arrange cleaning overseas before the machine is shipped?

Yes. We coordinate overseas cleaning so the machine is clean before it is loaded, which reduces the risk of delays and extra costs when it arrives.
